Well it happened when I was a kid. I remember being about 12 years old (early 80′s) and going out to a park with a bunch of friends and playing with water pistols and dart/disc guns. Some of them were apparently real enough looking that someone called the cops and my buddy was staring down the barrel of a shotgun as I looked on from the woods. Of course everybody dropped their weapons quick enough (and everyone was white enough) that nobody ended up dead, but it could have easily gone the other way if the cops hadn’t give him …read more

I think it’s a good idea, whether or not it’s true. The porsche purist in me has always been offended by names like Cayenne and Cayman. It makes more sense to go with a number, but that doesn’t mean the names have to go away compeltely – they can still be assigned to model variants, which also seems to be a porsche tradition. Boxster and speedster can live on, but I hope Cayenne and Cayman (and Macan for that matter) end up in the scrap pile.

I remember when teh internets were agog at the idea of the return of the Lancia Stratos, which is pretty similar to what I imagine a “butched-up” Lotus might look like. Or maybe they’re going more to the four-door crossover look – with the success of the Macan and the Evoque who could blame them? But I would argue that the difference between a rally car and a crossover is mostly styling, and a great car could be made in either form.
