Minivans sure ain’t dead, but they sure ain’t mini either. I have a friend who has one of those Toyota Siennas and that thing is HUGE! And of course, that’s what’s appealing about them; they’re capable of swallowing a whole passel of ankle biters, and with all those fold-down seats and other tricks, they make for a pretty useful vehicle for transporting all sorts of other things. Actually if you think about the compounding rates, the total price increase is just about 4% per year, and over the last 10 years the average inflation rate has been about 2.5% so it’s actually just a 1.5% per year compounded increase over the last 9 years. Not really that much, when you think about it.
